Date: Saturday, April 13Come join us on April 13 when the very talented Cori Sturgeon of Root & Twig Studio will present another awesome pottery workshop. Under Cori’s direction, we will be crafting a fully functional, completely beautiful platter, using a variety of unique colors and designs. The platters will be fashioned in the workshop and available for pickup here at FV after they have been fired into finished pottery, which takes approximately 3-weeks. The cost is only $40, which you can pay at the door, by card or cash, and includes all clay and materials, along with firings and glazing..Cori is going to bring some of her own pottery with her that you’ll be able to purchase, and we will have a delicious assortment of wine choices available for purchase during the workshop.

Join us for our 17th year of FREE Family Fun! At the Summer Camps & Activities Fair, visit booths by camps, after-school activities, birthday party venues, health care professionals, schools and more. The Fair will be held at Lexington Christian Academy at 450 W. Reynolds Rd. just across the street from Meijer, behind Fayette Mall. Booths will have fun activities for kids while Mom and Dad chat with the representatives. You’ll find giant inflatables, face painting, games and giveaways like an American Girl Doll, spa gift certificates for moms and much more! While you are there you can enter your kids in our Cover Model Contest. Kaitlyn Silvestri Ellis Photography will take photos of all the smiling faces and we’ll use those pictures to choose winners who will appear on the covers of Lexington Family Magazine in the next year.
Military Day at The RacesDate: Sunday, April 14

All active-duty, reserve, veterans and military families receive free general admission and reserved grandstand seating with a military I.D., DD214, veteran I.D. or other form of Military I.D. at any pass gate. The Military Family Zone in the North Terrace will offer free food, live music and more from noon to 4 p.m. In honor of Month of the Military Child, Keeneland will have activities for children throughout the day.
Reforest the Bluegrass
Dates: Saturday, April 13Help expand Lexington’s urban forest and protect local waterways by planting native trees at Reforest the Bluegrass. Since 1999, more than 15,000 volunteers have restored 180 acres by planting 128,000 native tree seedlings. Come plant with us! Volunteers will receive free lunch, tree-planting training and a t-shirt (first come, first served).
